Need Help dealing with the IRS?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! As of IRS 2017 data, there are over 14 MILLION cases in collections with the IRS (those are the people receiving letters that say that they owe money), and in 2017 alone, the IRS audited almost 1 million tax returns. (statistics directly from irs.gov) Fortunately, if you are one of the 14 million, you have options, and I can help.

Dealing with the IRS is scary. I get that. That is why tax payers often choose to work with someone who can represent them (deal with the IRS on their behalf). That is what I am able to do for my clients. In most cases, a resolution can be come to between the IRS and myself, on your behalf, without you having to actually go see an IRS representative.

Can’t Afford The Tax?

The IRS has numerous programs to accept offers, or even deem a tax payer “noncollectable” based on their income, and the allowable expenses (as defined by the IRS).

If you are in this position, we can schedule a consultation to determine if you may be a candidate for an Offer In Compromise, and if so, at what level we can offer.

Don’t Owe The Tax?

That is even better. If we can prove that you do not owe the tax, were wrongly assessed, or were assessed without the proper documentation, we can file a Doubt As To Liability offer to have the tax eliminated or reduced (depending on which you qualify for).

Or perhaps, you owe the tax, but not at the level they are claiming? Again, we can file a Doubt As To Liability Offer to try to eliminate the part that is not due from you.

Have a Levy Or Lien?

Unfortunately, many tax payers don’t realize the rabbit hole the IRS letters that they have been ignoring take them down, or, they can’t pay the taxes, so they simply ignore it.

Then, the IRS garnishes your wages, clears out your bank account, or puts a Lien on your house! All the IRS wants is to be communicated with. Let me help you start that conversation, so we can get your assets back.

Consultation

The first step in the process my process is the Consultation. What will we cover?

  • Are you current on your tax filing and liability?

  • Pull your IRS transcripts to see where they believe you stand.

  • Have you taken any action yet?

  • Review all relevant tax returns for accuracy, and items we may be able to use to our advantage

  • What is your current level of income?

  • What are your current IRS approved expenses?

  • Can we change those expenses so that they get you a better result?

  • What avenues are you willing to go down for us to resolve this issue?

At the end of our consultation (this may take more than just on meeting and possibly multiple days), you will know a) if you are in compliance with your current tax obligations, if the IRS agrees, and if not, what needs to be done to bring you into compliance. 2) What the IRS believes you owe, from what years, and how much has been added to that in penalties and interest. 3) Where you fall on the IRS collectible scale based on your income, and what they allow as expenses. 4) What sort of an offer or payment program you might qualify for, or if you are eligible for “Currently Not Collectible” status, and what that means for your future. 5) The next step to be taken to start communicating with the IRS to resolve your tax debt, and get you back on a clear path.

This information will be yours to keep. You may choose at that point if you would like to handle the issue on your own, or if you would like to work with me further to represent you in the process, and in your communications with the IRS.

This is paid in advance. You should bring all paperwork you have to this meeting. This includes: all notices from the IRS, all tax returns for the years in question (if you still have them), the last 3 years of tax returns (even if they are not for the years being collected, they may help us build your case). You will also be asked at that time to sign the IRS form 2848, which gives me authority to represent you to the IRS, as well as to pull transcripts to be sure that we have a complete picture of your case. Note that the consultation may take more than one day, as we want to ensure that we have ALL paperwork and transcripts from the IRS, and that we have a complete picture of your situation.
